One-a-day in 2012

Let me start by saying Christmas blog posts are in the works! I have so many pictures and a video that I want to share, it is just taking a little while to get it together. With that said please try not to laugh out loud at the following statement...I mean it, please! I have seen this done on Facebook before and I really want to give it a try. The goal: One blog post a day! ...I said don't laugh!!!!! :) I know my blogging track record has gone down the tube, but as I looked back on my blog in the begin I see how fun it was to keep up with our everyday activities and not just a post on holidays or once a month. If I am being honest with myself (and you) I am doubtful that I can keep this up...New Year's Resoulution: Prove myself wrong! So here's to 2012!

One-a-day 01-01

After a long couple of days of being sick and playing nurse to my sick family, we are ending the first day of 2012 with a little family movie night. Cheyenne's first viewing of Grease! Happy New Year, bloggers!

A very Pinterest Christmas

I am pretty sure this will be the best Christmas yet for the Volpe 4. We are getting a special present that will be blogged about tomorrow, but that is not why this is such a great Christmas. This Christmas a miracle has been preformed...I am PREPARED!! I am not sure how this happened but I like it!! So with the help of Pinterest--A crafters dream website, I have actually been able to make some the Christmas crafts I usually can only dream of having time for:)

The first pictures are of Cheyenne and I with the t-shirts scarfs we made with a little help from Grandma Lori. This was such an easy project--no sewing! Here is the instructional video.

The pink scarfs are BFF scarfs that Cheyenne made as gifts for her besties:)

The snowman ornament is the a gift for the grandmas this year. The eyes and mouth are made with the kids finger prints.

And the final project is probably my favorite. My "fridge-man":) 

 I am not sure what is under this wrapping, but I am sure it is crafty and made with love from my "Shiney girl"! She was even a sweet sister and included Ryker in the gift giving. It is the sweetest thing under our tree:)

Hair-do Guru

Okay so I know I never really post anything about fashion or style....pretty much because I have little knowledge of either. However I am obsessed with all things pertaining to hair! If you know me you know I change my hair style and color like I change...well maybe MORE than I change other things :) LOL! I found this great blog with a ton of awesome hair how-tos and I had to share...TheSmallThingsBlog.

Un-Tangle me, please!

So since my last post I have... Made my fist wedding cake, shot pictures for said wedding, taken a trip to Florida (during which our car broke down), planned and directed our church fall festival and with some help from mom...finally finished the Rapunzel dress!

So here is the fruit of my baking labor. I can't lie...I am really proud of this cake. And I must say it was one of the least stressful cakes I have made. No cake-crisis.

Okay and let me take a moment to defend myself here: I went against all that is in my procrastinating self and started this Rapunzel dress at the beginning of September, but time has a way of creeping up on me and next thing I know I am still sewing trim on this thing the night before our fall festival. I do have to send out a big thank you to my lovely mother who took a few days to work on the dress while we were delayed in Florida with a broken down car.

But in the end I must say that my mom was right it was all worth that happy face :)

 In the midst of all the fabric flying around the kitchen (aka: the sewing room) I remembered that I had a another child that needed a costume. No I am just kidding, I was planning on dressing Ryker like the hero Flynn Ryder from the Tangled movie, but I decided that my sleep (and sanity) was more important than coordinating outfits. Ryker received this super hero get-up for his birthday.
