Christmas Eve Candle Light Service...

On Christmas Eve our church hold a Candle Light Service in praise of the greatest gift ever given---the Christ Child. Here is a little video clip of Bryan's sister, Becky, singing at the service.

Bryan's other little sister, Brooke, sang too. But she was so nervous that she made them turn the stage lights off. The video I took of her was too dark. We are so proud of them both!

Story time with Mrs. Claus!!

Mrs. Claus made a special trip to our library to visit, read stories and lead the kids in some cookie decorating! Cheyenne had a blast and was very friendly to Mrs. Claus.

Cheyenne was so anxious to eat her cookie that it became a car ride snack! She has developed quite the sweet tooth. Wonder where she picked that up from. Hmmm? :)

A special Christmas surprise...

Every year Bryan finds special ornaments to give to Cheyenne and I, and we do the same for him. Well this year Cheyenne ornament is extra special, because her mommy "blew it" just for her. A few weeks ago Bryan told me about this awesome glass shop that allows you to come and make a hand blown glass ornament. This is what he had decided he wanted to do for Cheyenne's Christmas ornament this year. So yesterday Bryan and Cheyenne watched as I blew her Pink and Green( that was the color choice made by Cheyenne) glass ornament! Here are the photos...

We had to leave our ornament at the studio to cool. We will pick it up on Monday and I will take more pictures to post:)

And for those of you who are wondering about the on going Santa saga...we stopped by the mall yesterday while we were in town, but he was not there. So the saga continues. We will try again next week. But Cheyenne did get to meet someone special from the North Pole today! Stay tuned for my next post of story time with Mrs. Claus!

Handmade with love...

Isn't this an adorable dress??? My Granny made this just for Cheyenne and it has a cute little story behind it:

A sweet friend of ours, Mrs. Grant, ran across a skirt she had bought for herself a hardly ever worn. Knowing how crafty Granny Williams is with a sewing machine, she gave the skirt to her in hopes that she could make Cheyenne a little something. Well, now you see the end result:

She even had enough material to make a pair of matching shorts( not shown). Cheyenne was so proud this Sunday morning to show all of her church friends the new duds her Granny made just for her!

A parade, snow and a SEC Campionship WIN...It doesn't get much better than this!

Thank you Lord for a wonderful night!!!

Cheyenne has never had a photo with Santa---she has always been to scared. This year we started to negotiate the Santa thing early...like in October, with the hopes that we would finally have a photo. We told her that Santa was nice, he was only pretend and that if you had you picture taken with him and smile real pretty he will give you a candy cane...that was the winning line---CANDY CANE!! In Lexington you can have your picture taken with Santa at Hopkins Green after the Christmas parade. So Cheyenne and I headed out this afternoon (alone because the rest of the Volpe clan were watching the SEC Championship) to watch the parade and see Santa. Well, half way through the parade Cheyenne was "FREEZING". I told her that we could head home but we were going to miss Santa, but Cheyenne promptly reminded me she had already got a candy cane( from a float in the parade)! So we came home---still no Santa photo. Here are some pic of the first half of the parade!

Well, here is when the night got really nice---down came some SNOW!!! Not just the little flurries we have had---A REAL SNOW!

And last, BUT NEVER LEAST...OUR GATORS WON THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Here are Cheyenne and her Papa Sebby wearing their Tebow shirts.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!

All we want for Christmas is...

TICKETS TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!

Christmas Parade in Buena Vista...

Tonight we headed out to meet our friends Amanda, Eddie and Logan in a neighboring town, Buena Vista, to watch the Christmas parade there. The parade was great and the company was even better. Cheyenne loved the old sports cars in the parade, but was not that crazy about the noisy fire trucks. Here are a few pics of our festive night...

Recognize that lady?? That is Catlynn's mom, Mrs. Dora Lee. And below, is Catlynn's cousin, Kelsey!

Cheyenne was holding her ears as the rescue and fire trucks went by.
