Ryker's Birth

We are loving life as a family of four! Ryker is such a wonderful baby and the perfect addition to our family. His birth was every thing I had been praying for--- Safe and FAST! I am at a loss for words when I try to describe how blessed I feel right now. Hope you enjoy viewing the pics from this amazing day!

We're home!

Thank you, Brandi for updating the blog while we were at the hospital.

We are home and baby Ryker is doing great! Thank you all for your prayers and the sweet comments. Here are a few more pics of the newest member of the Volpe family.

I am working on puting up a post with our birth story and a slide show of all of the hospital pics.

We are nearing the pregnancy finish line!!!

We had our last (scheduled) prenatal doctor appointment this past Thursday. Everything still looked great (still 2 cm dilated) and we are still on the calender to be induced on the 27th---THAT'S RIGHT, ONLY 5 MORE DAYS!!! If you have not already done so, please post a guess on our Baby pool.

I can hardly wait for Ryker's blog debut!!

The Dancing Queen...

Today was Cheyenne's first day of ballet class. As most of you know, this has been a long awaited event for both Cheyenne and her mommy:) And she loved it just as much as we thought she would. Bryan and I were so proud to watch her as she listened to the teacher's every word and did exactly as she did. Here are a few pics of this monumental day!

Made with love...

Here is a pic of Cheyenne with the painting she made for her new baby brother. It was such a thoughtful gesture we decided to frame it and put it in Ryker's nursery. Cheyenne is still so very excited about being a big sister. This Sunday in her Sunday School class they were learning about the story of the Good Samaritan. At the end of the lesson she was instructed to draw a picture of someone she could be kind to...and she drew a picture of baby Ryker. She just melts my heart sometimes:)

Baby pool...

There is big news on baby Ryker's arrival...

Originally our count down has been to our due date...September 3rd, well all that has changed now. As of my last Dr appt on Friday we are scheduled for a labor induction on August 27th!!! The decision to induce was not a result of any pregnancy complications, but more of a preference between my Dr and our family. My labor with Cheyenne was induced and I loved the feeling of having a schedule and a plan. On the other hand, August 27th is still 23 days away---plenty of time for baby Ryker to decide he would like to make his own plan! As of last week I am already 1-2 cm dilated, so I guess we will just have to wait and see if Ryker is going to cooperate with his mommy's plans or march to the beat of his own drum!

In lieu of the recent labor and delivery developments, I decided it might be a good idea to go ahead and start a baby pool. We are inviting all of our blog viewers to post a comment with your guess/estimate on the following:

-Date of delivery(...you may include time as well, if you are feeling really lucky!)
-Weight of baby
-Length of baby
-Hair/eye color

Here are some facts about Cheyenne to help with your guess:
-Born on the date of her induction.
-Weighed 7lbs and was 19in long.
-She has been a blonde headed and blue eyed girl from the day she came in to this world!!!

Another little hint: Dr said that baby Ryker looks to already be about 5 1/2lbs now and estimates he will be at least 7 1/2lb at birth...but that is also just a guess:)

So let the pool begin!!!!!

Our mini mountain vacation...

A few weeks ago we were able to slip away to the Bednarek's mountain cabin in Canaan Valley, West Virginia. We had a wonderful time visiting with my family, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Just what we needed after all of the busy summer activities we have had. My camera battery went dead half way through our trip(...the story of my life!), but here are a few we got:
Pickin' blueberries with Grandma Nancy:)
At the look-out with Papa Tom:)
There were deer everywhere...

Unfortunately we were only able to stay a couple of days, but we are looking forward to the next opportunity we get to back.
