Ryker is sporting the red cape for a second day in a row. I see a budding new fascination with all things "Super".

Blue...Forty-two...
I love this boy, and he loves football. And his love for football goes way deeper than most two-year-olds. When he gets a football in his hands he prances around (his own version of a quarterback route) and shouts " Blue...Forty-two..Set...HIKE" and then throws the ball with all his strength! It is so adorable, in that boy-ish, pigskin lovin' way.
P.S. This should come as no surprise, but I just wanted to let everyone know that he has chosen a Gator Football party to celebrate his 3rd birthday at the end of this month.

something old
I have been contemplating selling my wedding dress. I pulled it out today to see if it was still in good shape. Cheyenne lit up the second she saw it. She begged me to let her try it on. I agreed and though it swallowed her she looked so cute I had to take some pictures. She melted my heart when she asked if I would please save this dress for her wedding. Needless to say, that made up my mind :)

ribbons and bows
I probably would be a much better blogger if it weren't for Pinterest. If you know me at all you have heard of my tremendous love for this crafters dream of a website. If you can imagine a craft they have it. If you have trash that needs to be transformed into treasure Pinterest can show you how to do it. I could go on and on about the sweet bond I share with sweet ol' Pinterest :)
Here is the latest Pinterest project I have done. My sister-in-law has recently started making hair bows. Of course she has been sharing her goodies with my bow crazed, girly girl. Bows have begun to take over Cheyenne's dresser and bath room. Pinterest came to the rescue when I stumbled upon a picture of a re-purposed frame turned bow holder.
I just so happen to have an old frame on hand that I had found at a yard sale for $5.
A little paint, some ribbon and dressing up and...voila!
Cheyenne's new bow holder:)
(By the way, these are only half of the new bows Cheyenne has.)

My "Magic" Man
I read an article today that brought tears to my eyes and reminded me once again of how blessed I am. When Bryan and I married almost 9 years ago the feelings I had were indescribable. I had never known a love like that. And contrary to the unbelief of others around us I knew our love was real and right.
We have experienced so much together in these past years. And though everything has not worked out just as perfectly as we had planned, I have never had a doubt that we were not right where we needed to be when we needed to be there. I have to give credit to my awesome husband for that. Just as God had planned for him to do, Bryan has always been such a loving and committed leader in our marriage and family.
The article I read was comparing what Hollywood portrays as "sexy" and what makes and REAL man sexy! The two are very different. Here is a snip-it of what was written, but I encourage you to read the entire article.
I’m sure on a base level, Channing Tatum’s gyrating hips could get a woman riled up, as could the vulgar dance moves of Matthew McConaughey, especially if that woman is with a group of hooting and hollering female friends who make her feel like what she is viewing is harmless. I get it.
But make no mistake…“Magic Mike” is no harmless film.
Entertainment like this cheapens true masculinity, and paints a deceptive picture of what women should get excited about in men.
So if you’ll indulge me, I would love to help remind my female sisters what “sexy” and “manly” really looks like…
A man who communes with his Creator daily and strives to live a life that glorifies God.
A man who works long hours and spends his hard-earned wages to care for his family and occasionally treat them to fun things like Cherry Limeades and Redbox rentals.
A man who reaches down to pick up his little girl when she trips and falls and holds her close until her tears are gone.
A man who gathers his children around him at night to tell them a story, no matter how late he got in from work.
A man who would never go see a movie about a group of female strippers, no matter how many people were saying it was okay.
A man who researches recipes on the internet and makes a huge and messy meal in the kitchen so his beloved doesn’t have to make supper one night.
A man who treats the elderly with respect and dignity by patiently listening to them tell stories about their glory days.
A man who tends to the azalea bushes by the front porch, clipping them down when they need it and watering them morning after morning after morning.
A man who hops up from his reading when he hears you doing the dishes and gives you a hand.
A man who thoughtfully answers every question his little boy has about “why?” and “how?” the world and everything in it works.
A man who leaves whatever he is doing to help you when your car breaks down.
A man who monitors his free time and plans his schedule wisely and fairly. If he gets a night out with his friends, you get one, too.
A man who gets up at night to fix the baby a bottle while you lay drooling on your pillow.
A man who gives up an unneeded PhD so he can spend more time with his family.
A man who comes home with the new book you’ve been wanting, and its not even your birthday.
A man who has trained his eyes to look away from other women, even when they look better than you do.
A man who is humble enough to grow, long after he has become an adult.
A man who wants you and finds his satisfaction in you, and you alone, after many years of marriage and fidelity.
A man with happy wrinkles around his eyes that prove how many times he has smiled at you.
A man who sets up controls on his computer to avoid even the temptation to look at pornography.
A man who has dignity and modesty and self-control.
A man who refuses to speak profanity and hushes others when they use it in your vicinity.
A man who would give his life for you and the children, in a heartbeat.
A man who says “I do”…for better or for worse…for richer or poorer…in sickness and in health…forever.
Men like this don’t exist, you say? Oh yes, they do."

"Aside from the basic moral wrongs of the hit film “Magic Mike”, and regardless of the glaringly obvious double standard found in its popularity (can you imagine Christian men on Facebook making enthusiastic status updates about seeing “Striptease” with all their married Christian buddies at the local theater?! God, forbid! The claws would come OUT), I’ve got a beef with this recent “harmless” avenue of entertainment.I’m sure on a base level, Channing Tatum’s gyrating hips could get a woman riled up, as could the vulgar dance moves of Matthew McConaughey, especially if that woman is with a group of hooting and hollering female friends who make her feel like what she is viewing is harmless. I am here to testify this is true, and some how I managed to snag one of these incredible, sexy and very manly men! Bryan, I love you more than I say...well, maybe even more than I know. You are everything I have ever needed and wanted. I love our love and I love you, love:) -C

Hold the phone
If it was not for my handy camera phone I would have nothing to document for the past few weeks. So here is a jumbled post of random pics from the Volpe 4:)
Since the weather has been nice we have been outside every available moment. This is the kids outside doing school work.
I know it has been a while since you all saw a pic of our "furry baby". Here he is at 7 months.
Cheyenne was in a local pageant last week.
This one was taken while Bryan and I were out on my birthday date.
Bryan's least favorite part of summer--Ryker's loving it though!
Everyone is enjoying the kiddie pool!

I was a little aggravated with myself that I had not posted much since the blog improvements. They were meant to motivate me. But in this past week I have spent some much needed time on improving me. Not on the outside but in my soul. We have been in revival with our church for most of the week and it is always a time I look forward to. But this year was different. More than ever the messages cut me to the core and I am seeing things a little more in focus more. That focus being on Jesus. Tonight in fellowship with our youth Bryan shared Psalms 150:6: Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
I know for sure I fail at praising Him with every breath, but I most defiantly want to be on a path that is striving to be better than I was the day before. I want to share with you the most important knowledge I have to share.
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
Have you received the gift of Salvation? Do you know how? Again we look to the "Answer Key".
John 3:16-17: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
This week I have seen the example of how much the traditions of men and "church" can confuse people and there thoughts of how to receive Salvation. God makes the instructions plain to see and simple to do. He is not the Author of confusion (1 Cor 14:33). It is His will that ALL hear the message, understand it, and believe upon Him.
If you have not done so already, please call on the name of the Lord today. There are no special words to pray. Just speak from your heart. Admit the sin that is in your life and recognize that you are in need of a Savior. Believe that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth and lived a sinless life, but was crucified as payment for the sin of ALL men. And graciously ask to receive the gift of that precious blood that was shed...and you WILL BE SAVED!
If you are already a Christian please take the opportunity of this blog to share the Gospel with your lost friends and family members.
With love and compassion...

Old Spice meets Young Spice
Here lately Ryker has been showing concern for his manly stubble...LOL! Just kidding. He wants to be just like daddy and do everything he does.
I thought it was so sweet that Daddy took the time to give Ryker a pretend "big boy shave".

One-a-day 01-12
Are you a Mary or a Martha? When Jesus is speaking are you at His feet listening or are you drowning in the tasks of your day?
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:38-42

One-a-day 01-08
I know...I am a day late! But I had to post about our evening last night. It is no secret that we are die hard Tebow fans, and thanks to the Broncos' western location/schedule most of their games have fallen on Sundays at 4pm. Well, Bryan's practice for the church praise band is at 5pm on Sundays followed by evening worship, so our DVR has been catching the games for us and we have to watch them after we know the score. To me it is pointless, but the same thing happened last night. However, last night was a very important game...Tebow's first playoff game! To say I was shocked would be an understatement, when we finished church last night and heard the news that the Broncos pulled off a win against the Steelers! So of course as soon as we got home, Bryan replayed the whole game and as he watched he had the biggest smile on his face! It was even more entertaining than the game...even when the Steelers scored Bryan just kept smiling knowing that in the end the Broncos would come out victorious!
