Made with love...

Here is a pic of Cheyenne with the painting she made for her new baby brother. It was such a thoughtful gesture we decided to frame it and put it in Ryker's nursery. Cheyenne is still so very excited about being a big sister. This Sunday in her Sunday School class they were learning about the story of the Good Samaritan. At the end of the lesson she was instructed to draw a picture of someone she could be kind to...and she drew a picture of baby Ryker. She just melts my heart sometimes:)

Baby pool...

There is big news on baby Ryker's arrival...

Originally our count down has been to our due date...September 3rd, well all that has changed now. As of my last Dr appt on Friday we are scheduled for a labor induction on August 27th!!! The decision to induce was not a result of any pregnancy complications, but more of a preference between my Dr and our family. My labor with Cheyenne was induced and I loved the feeling of having a schedule and a plan. On the other hand, August 27th is still 23 days away---plenty of time for baby Ryker to decide he would like to make his own plan! As of last week I am already 1-2 cm dilated, so I guess we will just have to wait and see if Ryker is going to cooperate with his mommy's plans or march to the beat of his own drum!

In lieu of the recent labor and delivery developments, I decided it might be a good idea to go ahead and start a baby pool. We are inviting all of our blog viewers to post a comment with your guess/estimate on the following:

-Date of delivery(...you may include time as well, if you are feeling really lucky!)
-Weight of baby
-Length of baby
-Hair/eye color

Here are some facts about Cheyenne to help with your guess:
-Born on the date of her induction.
-Weighed 7lbs and was 19in long.
-She has been a blonde headed and blue eyed girl from the day she came in to this world!!!

Another little hint: Dr said that baby Ryker looks to already be about 5 1/2lbs now and estimates he will be at least 7 1/2lb at birth...but that is also just a guess:)

So let the pool begin!!!!!

Our mini mountain vacation...

A few weeks ago we were able to slip away to the Bednarek's mountain cabin in Canaan Valley, West Virginia. We had a wonderful time visiting with my family, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Just what we needed after all of the busy summer activities we have had. My camera battery went dead half way through our trip(...the story of my life!), but here are a few we got:
Pickin' blueberries with Grandma Nancy:)
At the look-out with Papa Tom:)
There were deer everywhere...

Unfortunately we were only able to stay a couple of days, but we are looking forward to the next opportunity we get to back.

34 weeks...

ONLY 41 DAYS UNTIL "D-DAY"!

Next Friday we are scheduled for another ultrasound. We can't wait to see how much our little boy has grown in the past 16 weeks...I hope he is growing as rapid as this belly of mine!

Here is the baby update this week:

Baby measures about 19.8 inches from head to toe and weighs about 5 pounds. Baby has probably settled into the head-down position and is moving less frequently. Organs are now almost fully mature, except for the lungs, and the skin is pink instead of red. Fingernails reach the ends of fingers, but toenails are not yet fully grown.

Vacation Bible School...

This week we took an awesome ride on the Boomarang Express:

It was a very sucsessful week. The kids (and adults) had a blast and 18 people came to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. At the end of the week we were even able to see 8 of those people get babptized. Here are a few videos and a slide show of our week:
(Notice I took the music off our blog, so no more pausing before you play the video.)

July 4th, 2009

Independence Day in Lexington was not a very sunny one, but we didn't let that stop us from having a great day. After a family cook-out at Cheyenne's Aunt Brandy and Uncle Mike's house, we headed to VMI (Virginia Military Institute) parade grounds for the annual hot air balloon festival and fireworks. Here are the photos of our day:

Cheyenne with her "arm painting". She was out on the face painting :)

Yummy popcorn!

Watching the hot air balloons.

Jumping in the bounce house.
We were all covered up while watching the fireworks, not because it was cold but because it started to sprinkle....and yes, they were Christmas blankets! We looked so silly!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!
