The McCorrmicks come to town...

This weekend we were visited by our best friends- David, Brandi, Justin, Jerrod and Mackenzie McCormick. Along with many other friends, we have missed them so much since our move and we could hardly wait for them to arrive! When they finally did get here, time flew by as we tried to squeeze all the best of Lexington into a three day weekend. I found myself so excited to see them and enjoying visiting so much, that I was slacking on my picture taking. I did manage to snap a few pics, and Brandi was sweet enough to share her photos with me.

They had to leave around noon today and we miss them already! We are now counting down until our next visit with them and all of our family and friends at Thanksgiving. Until then, Hotel Volpe has vacancy...who's next???

College Colors Day!

For those who do not know, today was College Colors Day in honor of the start of a new college football season. Of course folks around here were sporting Univ. of Virginia and Virginia Tech apparel, but not us! I guess we made it know that we are not from around these parts---we are Gators!!! Here we are in orange and blue, before we headed to town today!

Night-Night, Cheyenne!

I thought I would post a blog of our new night time routine since Cheyenne's move to her own "big girl" room.

First is bath time. Most of you are aware of Cheyenne's love for babies, well it has even taken over bath time now! Cheyenne has a special bath baby named "Sally". Here is a video of Cheyenne and Baby Sally in the tub:

Then it is time to brush our teeth...

...and then our hair...

...then we curl up in Cheyenne's bed for a bedtime story. Her pick tonight was the Bible songs book. The book has several different songs in it, but the only one that Cheyenne likes to hear is "Jesus loves me". It is by far her favorite song.

After all of that, it is not that hard for her to fall asleep. Isn't she precious?

Thank you God, for such a sweet baby girl...I mean BIG girl!

Cheyenne's new room...

Bryan and I have been working day and night to paint and decorate our new home. Some how I got all caught up in the decorating mood and I decided I could paint a floral mural on Cheyenne's bedroom walls. They make it look so easy on HGTV...how hard could it be:) Well half way through I was ready to paint over the whole thing! But as usual Bryan was there to keep encouraging me and one week from the day I started...we finally were able to show Cheyenne her NEW room! She had not seen her room for the whole week. She knew that we were painting, but it was a big surprise to see it for the first time!

I can't take all of the credit, Bryan helped me paint the base blue paint coat and also did an awesome job re-painting the furniture. Please leave comments and let us know what you think.

Cheyenne is so happy to have her new room! Please pray that she loves it so much she will sleep in her OWN bed now!!!

There is something new in the Volpe drive way..

Here is a pic of our NEW car! My very sweet hubby was a little concerned for his wife and daughter on these mountain roads with a front wheel drive car. I loved my Escape and we were blessed enough to find a four wheel drive Escape! I love it! God is good!

"The baby in mommy's tummy movie"...

Since we moved we have been without our satellite TV service so Cheyenne has been burning up all of her videos and DVDs. After running across the video of the day she was born, it has become her new favorite. She wakes up in the morning and asks: "Turn on the movie of the baby in Mommy's tummy". It was so adorable at first, but it has gotten a little out of hand now. We probably watch the video 4 or more times everyday!!! Newborn cries echo through our new house constantly. I snapped a few pics of Cheyenne watching "Baby Cheyenne":

Cheyenne's loves the part in the movie where we give "Baby Cheyenne" her pacifier, frankly I have grown fond of this part too :) Our satellite will be hooked up tomorrow so maybe we can give the video a rest.
