Emily...

Bryan's mom is very talented with a crochet hook. She made Cheyenne this adorable sweater and hat set and then she made her a doll to match. Cheyenne even helped put her doll together. After her doll was altogether and dressed came the hard part---naming her! I pulled out my baby name book and started rattling off some girl names to help Cheyenne choose. Emily (or Emmy) is what she decided on.

Who's your daddy?

First let me thank you all for praying for Catlynn, but please keep them coming! She is still in the PICC, and she has an infection in her blood stream. Please pray for her, her family and the doctors---I want her home so bad! It will be so strange to go to church tomorrow and not see her smiling face.

Okay, now to the story....

Cheyenne and I had to make a short stop at the library this morning to return a movie. On our way in we were walking by a very nice gentleman that stopped to hold the door for us as we walked inside. Of course Cheyenne was putting on her usual charm and said thank you so sweetly. Then, by coincidence we were leaving at the same time as this nice man...so he held the door for us once more as we exited the library. Cheyenne laid it on thick again...smiling at the man and thanking him again. As the man walk about four or five steps ahead of us Cheyenne decides to blurt out : "Mommy, is that my Daddy?"!!!! As I looked up hoping the man did not hear me...he turned around and SMILED!!! I was so embarrassed! I have no idea what made her ask that! I felt like he thought it was some type of pick up line to find a "daddy" for my father-less child! LOL! Guess Bryan is going to have to stop working so hard--Cheyenne can't even remember who her daddy is!

Please say a prayer for Catlynn.

You should all remember the young lady Catlynn from my post about the sleepover...well tonight she needs your prayers! She was taken to the hospital tonight and has suffered several seizures in a short period of time. Please pray for her and a healing on her body, pray for the doctors as they work to solve her medical issues, and please pray for God to comfort her family! She is such a sweet girl and I can guarantee if I asked her to pray for you she wouldn't hesitate---please do the same.Thank you and God bless!

I will keep you updated on her condition.

A beaautiful Atumn day!

Wow! What a nice day it is here! Kind of cool and breezy, but with a beautiful clear sky and a bright sun! Today was the definition of Fall! Cheyenne and I headed out this morning to story time at the library. This week was all about dinosaurs. They read a few dinosaur books and then made dino finger puppets. Then we headed off to the park. What a great day we have had. Just wanted to share some of our Autumn fun.

Open House...

On Sunday we opened our new home to all of the church members. For some it was the first time they had ever even been in the parsonage. They were excited to see us all settled in and all of the decorating that I had been up to. So today Cheyenne and I decided we should do an Open House "blog-style"!

Here is the outside:

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Talley Trio concert!

Friday night Bryan took me to see my favorite gospel group--the Talley Trio in Lynchburg( about and hour away). My friend Jessica got me hooked on them about a year ago when we she invited me to one of their concerts in Ocala. I have been a fan ever since. It is a father, mother and a daughter group and their voices are so beautiful, but that is not why I love them so much. Their songs are so powerful and contain such a wonderful message of God's love and hope. After the concert we were headed to Coldstone Creamery, but we passed a Texas Roadhouse( which are few and far between in our neck of the woods) and decided to have a steak there instead. Here are a few pics that we snapped that night.

I was thrilled to have three new Talley CDs! Yay!

This is Bryan NOT wanting his picture taken, but I couldn't help it--he is just so cute:)

Here is a short clip of one of my fav Talley songs-Mountain Mover:

If you want to see more of the Talley Trio you can search for them on Youtube. Several videos of there songs are posted there.

This will make you laugh...

I know that Cheyenne is watching everything we say and do, just so that she can copy it and be a "big girl", so I should not have been surprised when I saw her do this today. Sometimes when Cheyenne has a little smudge on her face I lick my thumb or finger and wipe her face. I know that may sound gross, but my mom did it to me, I do it to Cheyenne and I know for sure Cheyenne will continue this habit. Just look:

Stampin'!

I had some of my stamps pulled out yesterday and Cheyenne had to join in the fun!

Praise the Lord!!!

We just finished and awesome Sunday. Today was our church's Homecoming Sunday. Kerrs Creek Baptist Church was celebrating 140 years!!! Looking back on the church's history and heritage is truly and inspiration and so was the amazing message that Bryan preached. He reminded us that the few good people that started this church 140 years ago were lead by their compassion for the lost---the same compassion that we should carry with us everyday. I pray that as a Christian I never loose sight of my real purpose on this earth---to share the love of Jesus with EVERYONE I meet. It was compassion for the lost that Christ displayed as He died on the cross, and it is compassion for the lost that should move us to share that story with the world.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
Matt. 28:19-20

Block building with Brooke!

Cheyenne's Aunt Brooke ( yes aunt, she is a 10 year old aunt) came to visit and play today. Here are some pics I took of her and Cheyenne and the very tall tower they built.

And you know what the best part about building a tall tower is...knocking it down!

Time to start all over again!

A cute story...

Cheyenne has been fascinated by my reading glasses lately. She is always reminding me to go and get them before we read a story.

Last night when Bryan got home Cheyenne could not wait to show him her new library books. After she made him read all of the books to her and was still begging for more, Bryan made the comment that "Cheyenne should read the stories to Daddy." ---to which Cheyenne quickly responded "I can't...I don't have my glasses on!".

She is such a nut!

The Library...

This morning we headed out for our first trip to the library. Cheyenne had a great time. She was amazed by all of the books and loved the kids play area. Here are some pics of our excursion:

Cheyenne was confused when we left that we took books but did not half to pay any money. She was worried we were doing something naughty. :)

The "no slumber" slumber party!

There is a lovely young lady at our church that has grown so close to my heart. Her name is Catlynn. She is a fourteen year old girl who is confined to a wheel chair due to an accident that happened early in her life. Though she may have physical restrictions---not much holds her down. Cartlynn is full of life and loves the Lord with a passion that has always amazed me! When I tell her no one loves her more than I do she responds "Yes there is, Jesus loves me the most!". I am telling you about this wonderful girl, to explain how this "no slumber" slumber party got started. Catlynn and I were talking one day about how late she could stay up (usually until 1am). I made the comment that she would be great at a sleep-over---her face lit up and I knew that we had to throw one. After we set the date that was all Catlynn talk about for the two weeks prior to the party. We decided to have it at the church and invite all of our young girls. This would be the first time that Catlynn had ever stayed the night away from home and not been in the hospital. The party was a huge success and much to my surprise I managed to stay up all night. A few times while watching a movie I would start to drift off and Catlynn would look over and say "Christina, are you still awake?", and I would perk back up.

We had a total of 21 girls show up and I had 6 wonderful adult ladies to help me pull off this awesome night. Everyone had a great time, but none had as much fun as Catlynn. She asked me last night if we could have another slumber party in three weeks. I told her that I needed a little more than three weeks to recuperate from all of the fun we had this time, and she said "How about three and a half weeks then?" LOL! Catlynn and her family are committed members of our church. There for every service---and usually one of the first ones there and the last ones to leave. She said she would move into the church if we would let her. What a testimony that should be to us-I pray that we would all have that excitement about being at church.

Here are a few pics from this great night:

Grouped up for a Bible study

The very messy ice cream sundae game. The two teams must build a sundae while laying on the floor head to head on their foreheads!

Beading table making beautiful bracelets and necklaces.

Hair and make-up table. Of course you know this is where you would find Cheyenne!

LIPSTICK! That is my girl!

Catlynn and I. Isn't she beautiful? She has an awesome make-up artist and hair stylist--ME!

A pillow fight---and Cheyenne is right in the middle of it!

Bryan's little sis Brooke and Cheyenne. Cheyenne fell asleep at about 12am!

The girls were teaching us some of the motions to their Vacation Bible School songs.

Getting ready to PARTY!!!

Tonight we are having a slumber party for the young girls in the church ( although, from what I hear there will not be much slumbering). I have invited Cheyenne to come with me and as you can see in this video she is so excited!

I will update our blog tomorrow with some pictures of the slumber party! I am sure that we are going to have a great time.
